DONETSK, April 15. /TASS/. Freshly mobilized Ukrainian soldiers are holding first-line defense in Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) while their military commanders have withdrawn to the edge of the city, adviser to the DPR head Igor Kimakovsky told TASS on Monday.

"According to confirmed information, freshly mobilized personnel have been thrown into holding first-line defense. Meanwhile, military commanders of various levels have left the frontline and are exercising command and control remotely in some areas," Kimakovsky said.

The Ukrainian combat group in Chasov Yar is daily suffering heavy casualties, he said.
