Communications facilities in Russia’s new regions sustained more than 2,000 attacks

The attacks have taken a toll on providing communication services across large areas in the regions, Oleg Terlyakov said

SOCHI, October 24. /TASS/. The Russian communications agency registered more than 2,000 attacks on civilian communications facilities in Russia’s new regions over the course of the special military operation, said Oleg Terlyakov, a deputy head at the agency.

"During the period of the special military operation, according to preliminary estimates, civilian communications facilities in new territories were subjected to military attacks more than 2,000 times. This caused damage and destruction of communication facilities such as base stations, TV and radio transmitting equipment," he said at an industry conference.

The attacks have taken a toll on providing communication services across large areas in the regions, Terlyakov said.
