Azov units suffer heavy losses in fighting near Avdeyevka, DPR official says

DONETSK, April 5. /TASS/. Units of the nationalist Azov Battalion (designated as a terrorist organization and outlawed in Russia) have suffered heavy losses in fighting near the city of Avdeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the DPR, said.

"The Azov units, which are much hyped by Kiev and viewed as elite forces, have suffered heavy losses. After Azov troops withdrew from Avdeyevka, our Aerospace Forces and artillery units literally wore them down near the villages of Berdychi, Semyonovka and Tonenkoye. Our assault teams had the last word in some areas," Kimakovsky said.

He specified that the number of Azov members killed in action was in the hundreds.
