Putin shares secrets to long, healthy life in talk with female officers

The Russian leader said that in order to stay in good health, he exercises regularly and also tries not to drink any alcohol

KRASNODAR, March 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has shared personal tips on staying healthy, including regular exercise, cold training and an almost complete abstinence from alcohol.

"A very good exercise - it is important for you, being officers - is cold exposure training. Really! Hot and cold showers or contrast baths," the head of state said at a meeting with female graduates of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots.

Putin said he is confident that this is the most effective means of cold training. "You know, I remember when I was a kid in Leningrad, we didn’t even have a bathroom in our communal apartment. Still, I went outside in winter and rubbed myself with snow," he divulged.

"What I am trying to say is that if there is a will, there is always a way to achieve the needed result. And taking care of one’s health is always important. And not only does it have a personal but also a national dimension," he added with a smile.

Putin said that in order to stay in good health, he exercises regularly and also tries not to drink any alcohol. "I have practically ruled out alcohol. At least, I am definitely trying not to drink any hard liquor," the Russian leader added.

He expressed his wishes to the young women that they retain all their best qualities. "I wish you to be healthy, beautiful and successful," Putin concluded with a smile.
