Ukraine is at a great risk of its frontline collapsing wherever Russian generals decide to focus their offensive

BRUSSELS, April 3. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military may see its frontlines collapsing, if Russia amasses its forces for an offensive in a particular area, the European edition of Politico magazine reported on Wednesday.

The military picture for the Ukrainian army is grim, the paper said, citing high-ranking Ukrainian military officers who had served under General Valery Zaluzhny, Ukraine’s commander-in-chief replaced in February.

Ukraine is at a great risk of its frontline collapsing wherever Russian generals decide to focus their offensive. With a numerical superiority of the Russian army and the active use of guided aerial bombs that have been smashing Ukrainian positions for weeks now, Russia will likely be able to "penetrate the frontline and crash it in some parts," the officers who spoke on the condition of anonymity told the paper.

"There’s nothing that can help Ukraine now because there are no serious technologies able to compensate Ukraine for the large mass of troops Russia is likely to hurl at us. We don’t have those technologies, and the West doesn’t have them as well in sufficient numbers," a top-ranking military source told Politico.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on April 2 that Russian troops had improved their tactical position in several frontline areas, in particular, in the Vremevka, south Donetsk and Kherson directions.

Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu said during a conference call with military commanders on April 2 that the Ukrainian army had lost over 80,000 troops and 14,000 items of military hardware, including 1,200 tanks and armored vehicles since the start of this year.
