KALININGRAD, April 15. /TASS/. Russian carmaker Avtotor started production of the Jetour Dashing urban crossover in Kaliningrad, according to the company's press service.
"Avtotor has started industrial production of Jetour cars. The first model of the brand, which is produced at the facilities of the Kaliningrad carmaker, is the urban crossover Jetour Dashing," the press service reported.
Avtotor and the Jetour signed a general agreement, which includes organizing the production of the brand’s products in Russia and gradually increasing the level of localization.
Chairman of the board of directors of Avtotor Valery Gorbunov told reporters that in 2024 the company plans to produce at least 10,000 cars of this brand in Kaliningrad and aims to increase the production volume to 15,000 cars.
At the same time, Jetour expects to sell from thirty to fifty thousand of its cars in Russia in 2024, international markets director of the Chinese car brand Liang Bin told reporters at the opening ceremony of Jetour Dashing crossover production start.
"We plan sales from about thirty thousand to fifty thousand cars [in 2024] in the Russian Federation," the senior executive said.
Sales volumes depend on the demand for it, he added, noting that this refers not merely to sales of the Jetour Dashing crossover but also to other brand models, including X70 and X90 crossovers and the T2 SUV.
